Google and Facebook to take 71% of display advertising revenue by 2020Google Logo

Google and Facebook currently account for 53% of the ad revenue spent in the UK, and according to a recent report by OC&C Strategy Consultants, this amount will rise to 71% by 2020. This rise is primarily due to the heavy usage of smartphones and these two companies dominating digital ad spend. However, many advertisers are concerned about the power of Google and Facebook, with calls for greater transparency, especially in light of Facebook admitting there were many errors in the way it measures advertising activity

Samsung to release a foldable smartphone?

No, it's not April Fool's Day and you're reading this correctly - Samsung has the technology to create a foldable smartphone, and could release it this year. The Korea Herald has revealed that Samsung is ready to unveil a smartphone which will fold out to form a 7-inch tablet. All Samsung needs to do now is decide whether or not consumers actually want a smartphone that can turn into a tablet.

Barack Obama gave his farewell address this week, making way for Donald Trump's inauguration on Friday, January 20th. As expected, there was a mixture of responses on social media from both sides of the political spectrum, however it was clear to see that Obama will be missed in Hollywood.

Wondering why the name "Amber Sherlock" was trending all across Twitter this week? The Australian news anchor has gone viral because a video of her shouting at her colleague, Julie Snook, has been leaked - and it was all because of a jacket. The two anchors were wearing similar-colored tops, along with their guest on the show, and during the commercial break, Sherlock demanded that her colleague put on a jacket before the broadcast commenced. Eventually, Julie Snook agreed and everyone was smiling by the time the show went live. However, the fallout on social media has led to Amber Sherlock making all her social media accounts private.
